Come for a February walking lunch on Corstorphine Hill to see which edible plants and mushrooms grow in Edinburgh this time of year. We'll discuss edible and similar toxic species on a leisurely three hour walk, harvesting a few of the edibles and enjoying tasty and exciting foraged food and drink samples along the way.

We will go beyond learning how to tap birches for sap to learning how to make birch sap syrup and beer, to using other parts of the tree in foods and drinks and learning about mycorrhizal, parasitic, and saprophytic fungi relying on birch trees. We will finish with a picnic of birch foods and drinks.
