Midsummer Forage
2:00 pm

Come for a midsummer walk on Corstorphine Hill to see which edible plants and mushrooms grow  this time of year.  We'll discuss edible and similar toxic species on a leisurely three hour walk, discuss preparation methods and safe and sustainable foraging practices, and, best of all, taste these species in exciting and delicious wild foods and drinks.

Summer Foraging Course 10:00am

Meadowsweet and fireweed, sorrel and yarrow, giant polypore and ripe berries and fruit all beckon in July.

See what edible wild herbs, mushrooms, and flowers grow in wood and grasslands and along riversides and hedgerows in summer. Come along for a wander, bring a basket and scissors, and we'll collect some edibles and learn about which wild foods to find and how to prepare them this time of year. The course will include wild food and drink samples.

Midsummer Celebration    11:00am

Come along to Yellowcraig Beach and enjoy a coastal midsummer foraging celebration.  Bring scissors and we'll make use of the low tide to harvest delicious and healthy seaweeds.  Afterwards, we'll look at midsummer's coastal greens and fungi, collect some wild herbs and have a dip in the sea before gathering around a fire and sample wild midsummer flavours in a  wild food picnic.

Midsummer Celebration1: 30 pm

 

Celebrate the solstice outdoors with a magical multisensory midsummer renewal experience!

 Come on a  forage along the shoreline in Granton to collect midsummer birch branches along with other wild edible midsummer species which we will taste them in a variety of small dishes and drinks before making our own birch whisks  to use in our one hour sauna session in the beautiful little wooden woodfired outdoor saunas by Soul Water Sauna in Granton.

Weather permitting we will finish with a solstice feast around a fire at the beach.

Birch Sap and Sauna
11.30 am

Join me in a very special outdoor self care and renewal experience!

 Come on a  forage along the shoreline in Granton to learn how to tap birches for their clean beautiful sap., along with other wild edible early spring species.

We will taste them in a variety of small dishes and drinks and then make our own birch whisks  to use i in our 45 min sauna session in the new beautiful little wooden woodfired outdoor saunas by Soul Water Sauna in Granton.

We will finish with an early spring feast around a fire before going home still glowing and feeling thoroughly renewed.
